I have known Mike and Carolyn for many years now. I saw the start of their relationship and I had the privilege of capturing the start of their marriage. I have to say, there is nothing quite like being a part of a wedding that you know the couple intimately. There were multiple points during the ceremony when I almost lost it. To see one of your best friends marry an amazing man and have the privilege of being a part of such a special day was more than enough to make a girl weep! For the sake of their photos, I was glad I held it together.
Mike & Carolyn decided to have their wedding at The Wanderer's Club in Wellington, Florida. I love when a Florida couple can step away from the stereotypical beach wedding and create an day that describes them perfectly. As soon as I arrived at The Wanderer's Club, I knew it was the perfect setting for these two. It was secluded and tucked back away from the rest of the hustle and bustle of south Florida, which is a rarity these days. I am originally from South Florida and one of the things I DO NOT miss is the constant traffic and chaos. No thanks, I'll take a dirt road any day over that insanity. Living in Arkansas and Mississippi has spoiled me in terms of driving. When the GPS says it's 10 minutes away, it's actually 10 minutes, not 10 minutes + 20 minutes of traffic. Oh goodness, I could go on. But let's get back on track now...
When I arrived, I headed straight to the bridal suite where THE MOST STUNNING BRIDE was getting ready.
Look at this girl! Folks, not only is she one of the most beautiful woman, she is also the sweetest. And to top it off, she's pretty smart too.
And while Bride is getting ready, I have to say, one of my favorite things to watch is Dad. I mean, look at this face. He is one proud man and to capture him in awe of his daughter says it all.
Mike & Carolyn's ceremony was short, sweet, and full of laughs. There friends and family laughed with them and also shed a few happy tears for the newlyweds.
Directly after the ceremony we headed to take Bride & Groom Portraits. MY FAVORITE. I think they are really everyone's favorite. This time is so important after the ceremony. It gives the bride and groom time to relax, enjoy each other, and take it all in before the reception begins.
I was reminded of how beautiful some of the Florida palm trees and vegetation is. Sometimes a change of scenery is inspiring.
