I have known Mike and Carolyn for many years now. I saw the start of their relationship and I had the privilege of capturing the start of their marriage. I have to say, there is nothing quite like being a part of a wedding that you know the couple intimately. There were multiple points during the ceremony when I almost lost it. To see one of your best friends marry an amazing man and have the privilege of being a part of such a special day was more than enough to make a girl weep! For the sake of their photos, I was glad I held it together.

Mike & Carolyn decided to have their wedding at The Wanderer's Club in Wellington, Florida. I love when a Florida couple can step away from the stereotypical beach...

I love the photographer community. Especially photographers who subscribed the same mentality I do, which is Community Over Competition. Instead of competing against each other, lift each other up. We are all in this together! It is so refreshing when I can work through some business frustrations or share a photo I am excited about with my fellow photographers. This couple right here is the fruit of one of those very relationships.

My friend Joanna, who is also a photographer, contacted me to let me know she was sending Shane and Alii my way! Joanna and I met in Florida at a Women's Bible study and have stayed in touch ever since. Joanna's passion is photographing families, so whenever someone in...

CJ and Alexa chose Grenada Lake as one location for their winter engagement session. I think we can all agree that this location is absolutely stunning. There are not a lot of places in Mississippi where you can get this type of scenery and I am lucky enough to live only an hour from it. The green trees mixed along with Mississippi red mud makes for some of my favorite colors in photographs. Not to mention, CJ and Alexa's outfit choice help create the perfect atmosphere for truly romantic photos. As a second location, we also chose GlenWild Stockyard that had a more laid back vibe.

From the moment I met CJ and Alexa, I just fell in love with THEIR LOV...

When you think of Miami wedding, your mind easily goes to a glamorous venue close to the beach where everyone is dressed in their best attire. This is why this particular elopement was so unique and by far one of my most favorite.

Teddy and Amanda decided to make this day all about them, including showing off their style...and amazing style at that! They wanted to remember each moment of their day from the "first look" all the way to their first dance. No, just because you decide to elope doesn't mean you have to forgo some important wedding traditions! It just means those special moments are more intimate. And who doesn't want that!?

Their wedding took place at Redland Koi Gardens in Mi...

Ole Miss Engagement Session

October 18, 2017

It is far and few between that I meet a couple that is so affectionate with each other that even a stranger photographing them doesn't throw them off...even one bit! They even caught me off guard as I found myself just wanting to watch them...ya know, in like a good romantic movie sort of way. haha!

When I first met Nathan and Madison, my initial thought was that they create an atmosphere around them that is immediately contagious. They pulled up to our engagement session location, GlenWild Stock Yard (which was amazing by the way), and Madison got out of the car and immediately gave me a hug. She was full of smiles and he was full of joy just watching her smile. They weren't nervous or hesitant about...

Some fellow Arkansans! Okay, I know I'm not from Arkansas but sometimes like to align myself with them when I'm feeling a little out of place in "the South." I tell my husband all the time that the South just won't let us go and eventually God will have moved us to every state in and around this area. We currently live in Itta Bena, MS where my husband took a job in aquaculture. Most people give us a confused look when we say "aquaculture" and then try to correct us by saying "you mean agriculture?"

"Um, no...aquaculture...like fish" is usually my response.

Not that I don't like the south, but some mountains and snow would please my soul these days. Florida was my home for most of my life, then Arkans...

When I moved to Mississippi I was a little skeptical...Okay, let me rephrase, I was A LOT skeptical. My husband and I were moving to Mississippi for his job and I wasn't exactly thrilled. No big secret there. When I pictured Mississippi, the only vision in my head was corn fields and catfish ponds. THRILLING, right?

Well, it just goes to show that you need not judge a place at first thought OR sight because there are hidden gems EVERYWHERE.

And speaking of hidden gems, look at this place! Bull Bottom Farms is basically what I like to refer to as the Disney World of Mississippi. Bull Bottom Farms is a family owned operation out of Duck Hill, Mississippi where they allow familie...

There is nothing quite like young love. And these two turned young love into something that will last a lifetime. They met while they were in high school, she was a freshman and he was a senior. From the moment Robert saw Lorin, "he knew he loved her from the second they met." Come on, tell me that doesn't make you want to tear up a bit?!

Robert + Lorin had decided to have their engagement session in a place with some family history, Lorin's grandfather's Peach Orchard.

The day was just PERFECT and still one of my most favorite places in Arkansas that I have shot. The overhanging trees made for the most wonderful amount of shade and the secluded pond made for some intimate moments between the two of th...

As some of you know, I had posted an engaged couple's casting call in hopes of meeting some fresh faces in and around Mississippi. I had a number of wonderful couples who contacted me, letting me in on their life and love story. I couldn't have been more grateful for all the responses I received, especially this one.

Meet Jordan & Marissa. Out of all the responses I received, Jordan was the only man who contacted me. All of the other responses were from women, which was to be expected because us women love to share our story :) This young man gushed over his bride to be, sharing all of the reasons why he can't wait to marry her.

One of the questions I asked my engaged couples was...
